Very helpful for me, especially for the more difficult classes I've taught in or tried to teach. Lol.

The Survive and Thrive course provided excellent ideas to implement in the classroom. It encourages teachers to further develop their classroom management protocol by refining tools in –and adding new ones to—their current repertoire. The use of flow-charts to detail each key element of classroom management is effective and easy to follow. These charts provide excellent visuals for teachers when at the ‘coal face’ planning their next course of action. Bob reinforces that everything is about the learning and his positive approach to classroom management is refreshing!

Survive and Thrive is a great course. I found it very helpful to be remind me what works and be introduced to new strategies I had not considered. It was specific to relief teaching and was a great way to complete PD which is often a struggle to find. The course took me longer than expected but it not only reinforced strategies that I had been using but introduced new ideas that I can incorporate in the classroom. It also highlighted the reasons why certain behaviours from the relief teacher should be avoided.

Survive and Thrive
offers a clear outline of some new techniques as well as a valuable reminder of many strategies that you know you should use but often forget. I liked the content of the classroom management modules the best. I like the times when you give actual examples of phrases to use in specific situations. I would like more examples for secondary school relief teacher. I would also appreciate more material relating to older students. Thanks, Bob! There aren't a lot of people interested in helping relief teachers.
